Alan D. Solomont is a former U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra and a lifelong social and political activist. He served as the Dean of Tisch College from 2014-2021 and currently serves as Dean Emeritus. Solomont helped to strengthen Spain's cooperation with the United States on matters of economic and global security during his tenure as Ambassador. He also chairs the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the U.S.-Spain Council. Solomont has spent much of his career in the health and elder-care arenas, founding the ADS Group and Angel Healthcare Investors. He is a longtime leader in the Democratic Party and has served on the boards of several nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Solomont holds a B.A. degree in political science from Tufts University and a B.S. degree in nursing from the University of Lowell (now the University of Massachusetts Lowell). Susan and Alan have two wonderful daughters, Becca, and Stephanie.
