Andris Nelsons, members of the BSO, and actress Annette Miller perform a program showcasing works great artists composed while imprisoned in the Nazi camp Terezín: Viktor Ullmann's "The Lay of the Love and Death of Cornet Christopher Rilke," a setting of Rilke's prose poem about the love and death of a young cavalryman (a dramatic production with original set designs), and Hans Krása's masterful Overture for Small Orchestra. The program opens with candle-lighting by survivors and veterans and also debuts a recent commission by the late André Previn.
